Gov. compares same-sex marriage to incest

Same-sex marriage has become a hotspot for controversial conversations in the last five years. With more and more states choosing to embrace the gay lifestyle and allow them to marry the controversy grows as more states begin to tackle the subject that has so many angry protesters coming out of the woodworks. In an article posted on CNN called, “Gov. compares same-sex marriage to incest” it talks about Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett and his stance against same-sex marriage. Referring to an interview that happened with CNN affiliate WHP-TV, Corbett was quoted comparing same-sex marriage to a union between siblings. 

Shortly after his comments came out the Human Rights Campaign was quick to argue Corbett’s comments by saying that his views are one of an extremist and they are inaccurate and insulting to gay and lesbian couples. 

While Corbett did issue an apology for his words he did not retract them which is only adding to the fuel that same-sex advocators have been brewing for the past few years. 

While the writer does not seem to write towards a certain stance on the subject it comes across to me as though they are for the legalization of same-sex marriage. Based on the first line of the report,”Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett’s stance on same-sex marriage is no secret...” I think it goes a far way in hinting to readers whose side the writer is on in the discussion. 

Siding with the writer I believe that same-sex marriage should be legal, not only in Pennsylvania but, in all 50 states. I feel this way for a number of reasons. 

For starters we now live in a society which the stigmatism towards being gay is not bad like it once was. In fact, depending upon your profession homosexuals are sometimes looked at as superior to heterosexuals. Doing their jobs better, being more relatable and sociable are just a few of the things that gays are sometimes credited with being. 

Adding on to that with the increased number of “out-of-the-closet-gays” it’s more and more likely that almost everyone knows someone who is openly gay. In fact my sister is gay and I couldn’t be more proud of her. She has managed to make a career for herself up in Bayfield, WI, being a manager of a recreation center up there. Being so close to Minnesota my sister is afforded the opportunity to get married when she finds it right to do so but many gay couples are not given such gifts. With the passage of gay marriage laws in all of the 50 states we can come closer to creating equality across the board and break down the barriers that have been placed between same-sex couples and the chance to live happily ever after.

Facebook will finally let you edit posts!

Ever messed up on posting a status and had to delete it moments later? Well now you don't have to worry about deleting it because Facebook will be letting users edit their content. This is great news to people who post something with a spelling error or to those who want to change a photo caption. While it doesn't change you're overall experience on Facebook it will be a nice added feature that people have been waiting for for quite awhile.

This will also be a nice feature when dealing with YouTube links that have been removed from YouTube for one reason or another. This is a common occurrence when dealing with music videos because of copyright laws. Now if a video has been taken down you can look for another workable link to post in its place. 

Something I found quite interesting about this new update is that they still seem to be denying users of the urned for "dislike" button. I'm not sure about the reasoning behind such a decision because many users would be very happy to see it come into existence. One idea I have about why it has yet to be made is that Facebook wants to keep its site an overall positive experience and including a "dislike" button would encourage users to bully online by not being happy for people. 

Something I find very interesting about the way that Facebook unveils its updates is that they don’t just let everyone enjoy them upon their release. They release them to small sample groups at a time and monitor its effectiveness before releasing it to another extended group. App Developers are the first to view all the new updates and then they get released to another subset of their users. 

Facebook obviously knows what they are doing because almost everything that Facebook has sunk their teeth into has worked out for them. One idea I have about why this seems to happen is because users are forced to continue to use their site even if they hate the new updates because it is the only way to stay in contact with many of their friends. Facebook has weaseled their way into the lives of almost everyone on the planet and that has made them an indispensable product that will continue to flourish even with the constant updates that people complain about.

Google's #1 Rising Search of 2011

Who would be surprised to know that Rebecca Black was the number one rising search of 2011? Not a whole lot of people. Rebecca took the world by storm early this year when her song "Friday" came out and took the world by storm.
The song became the most disliked video on youtube in a matter of weeks and showed just how long it takes for a viral video to take off.
Numerous parodies made their way to the web and gained popularity but none more then the original.
Rebecca is still recording music and trying to actually become a musician, but I have a fairly strong idea that no one will take any of her music seriously after the bombshell that "Friday" became

With the release of the new iPhone 4S and it's new feature "Siri" videos have been popping up left and right on the web. Here is another hilarious video showing just what Siri is becoming famous for; doing things no one would ever expect. In this video we see Siri recite the lyrics to Hypnotize by Notorious B.I.G. With flow like that maybe even Siri has a spot in today's music scene.
Personally I can't get enough of these types of videos right now. Although I'm sure that will change soon, right now its fresh and funny. People are getting Siri to do all sorts of things from reciting song lyrics to having conversations with itself. Not to mention the stances Siri has on some hot-button issues right now, but I'm not about to talk about those right now. Instead go out and get yourself an iPhone 4S, you won't regret it.

Another internet mashup video has hit the web and this one is taking clips from some of the greatest movies and songs in recent history. Starting out with the soundtrack from Inception the artist was able to capture my attention as Inception was one of the standout movies in the passed couple years. Then he draws from numerous other influences and brings in music from Snoop Dogg and Jimi Hendrix. This video is definitely something unexpected even during the age of music we are currently experiencing.
Lots of people are trying to make a name for themselves in the music industry and it usually only takes a few hit songs to do so. This guy is showing that he has the ability to do just that in the coming years.

Personally I love when people come out with videos that are original and interesting to watch. This video is able to do it again. Using the "Droste Effect" this guy made a video that boggles the mind. After watching this entire video I simply needed to watch it again just to see all the crazy effects that he did.
This is basically a music video to an instrumental song that in itself is catchy. Combine that with the visuals and you have what many people would call a "Mindf**k."
My favorite part of the video occurs around the 3 minute mark when the song goes into a bit of a break. You have to watch the video to understand completely as I do not want to ruin the moment however I think this song and video should be making their rounds about the web.
